The Shenandoah Valley Governor's School(SVGS) for Arts & Sciences. SVGS is a partial-day Academic Year Governor's School program; students attend the Governor's School in the morning and return to their home high schools for afternoon course sand extracurricular activities. SVGS has served gifted and high-achieving students in Augusta County, Staunton and Waynesboro since 1993.

Approximately 225 students attend SVGS. These students represent seven different high schools from three school divisions in the central Shenandoah Valley. Students must find their transportation for students to SVGS and divisions provide transportation back to their home schools for afternoon classes. Students take three or four classes from 7:43-10:55.

SVGS has twelve faculty members who each teach classes, a program director, an administrative assistant and half-time network administrator.
