Blue Ridge Virtual Governor's School (BRVGS) is a part-time Academic Year Governor's School program serving over 500 9th through 12th grade students from the counties of Fluvanna, Goochland, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson and Orange. Students take classes at their local schools, and collaborate with peers in their classes and from other schools.

Students apply as 8th grade students in order to gain admission to BRVGS. Every student enrolled in the Blue Ridge Virtual Governor's School is required to take the most rigorous courses offered at their home school. BRVGS students must also must take BRVGS core courses in which they are required to collaborate with peers in other member schools on challenging projects on a regular basis, with an emphasis on development of 21st Century Skills.

In addition, BRVGS students can also take elective courses in Engineering and Digital Media in partnership with the University of Virginia.
