Rigorous Academics

All of the courses at the Central Virginia Governor's School are weighted for Grade Point Average calculations, and many earn college credit through dual enrollment with the Central Virginia Community College. Students can take math courses from Honors Math Analysis/Pre-Calculus through Vector Calculus and Linear Algebra. Science offerings include a year of Physics for juniors and then a dually enrolled senior science course from among Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics, Freshwater Ecology, or Computer Science/Programming with Python. Juniors complete a year- long research course which requires an original research project, and seniors have a year-long specialty course called the Senior Seminar.
