Laboratory Experiences at Academic Year Governor's Schools

In both weekly course-related labs and individual research projects, Governor's School students learn to pose scientific questions; form hypotheses; design and conduct experiments; analyze results; revise questions, hypotheses, and methods; and formulate effective oral, written, and visual means for communicating their findings. Lab experiments, in-class demonstrations, and hands-on activities link theories and principles to one another, as well as to real-world situations. Students are challenged to see how individual concepts and disciplines interrelate to form the mosaic that is modern science.
